How To Study common admission test - July 23rd, 2012

Preparing for CAT is one of the toughest things to do because it involves a lot of pressure and if you want to get a call from any of those top institutions, then you need to pull yourself together and work really hard and prepare yourself for the Common Admission Test. There are three separate sections and you need to prepare yourself in each of these categories to make it to the top. Every category has individual cut – offs and if you are not strong in all three, then there is a chance that you might not get in at all.

While preparing for your CAT, you must first realize your strong points and your weak points. If you are better at the quantitative section, then you should focus more on the other two areas that you are not too confident about. Analyzing the solutions to your questions is primary here and the key here is to have it done in the least amount of time as possible. Time management is vital and there have been complaints from aspirants for years now that they don’t find enough time to complete their tests. The more you practice, the better your speed gets and that is also quite important here.

The Common Admission Test (CAT) is the first evaluation in being admitted to the Indian Institutes of Management (IIM) and other affiliated colleges. Studying for CAT might be a strenuous task for some, but with good planning and execution one can get through the journey smooth and successful. A good way to start your study preparation is to understand where you stand on the areas to be tested and what needs to be worked out to improve your skills that meet the bar.
