WLCI collaborates with Hindustan Times for its Traineeship program

WLCI has entered into a partnership with Hindustan Times Media for traineeship of its students. Students of WLCI College will work at HT media as Trainees along with studying their course curriculum at WLCI campus. Thus, WLCI students graduate with relevant experience in their field and getting final placements for them becomes very easy. This collaboration is a part of the unique initiative- Traineeship Advantage by WLCI College to facilitate students to get practical experience during their tenure at the institution.

As per the partnership terms of WLCI & HT Media, the students of WLCI will work with HT Media for a period of 30 hours per week from the date of joining. As per the agreement WLCI is allowed by HT to assess the performance of the trainee at the workplace. On one hand, WLCI will keep a track on the student’s performance on the other; HT too will assess the performance of the trainee and will keep WLCI in loop. Also, WLCI will also advise HT on the students’ academic performance at the institution. This practice will give a 360 degree view of the WLCI’s students’ performance and caliber. Subsequent efforts will be made to work on the weak areas and enhancing the strong aspects of the trainees.
HT Media will make earnest attempts to integrate the trainees into its culture, ethos and vision and enable them to apply the classroom teaching at the workplace. The candidates in this program will be provided 10 days leave for a period of 10 days for examination per semester. Further a 10 day leave would be provided for attending SAP (Skills & Attitude) Training at Noida once a year.

WLCI is a pioneer in this kind of teaching methodology which includes a clear-cut dissection of teaching. It includes classroom teaching and part-time job which enables the students to apply the principles and skills taught in the class in a real work environment.
The partnership with the esteemed organization of Hindustan Times is another feather in the cap of WLCI which is dedicated to provide its students traineeship with the best organizations. The ‘Traineeship Advantage’ which is the flagship program of WLCI and has been a great success over the years. Under this program, WLCI students get an opportunity to work part-time right from the beginning of their course and get practical exposure in the industry. This practice, a first of its kind in the education sector, has proved to be highly beneficial for both the students and the employers as well. Students get a great deal amount of hands-on experience and get an opportunity to hone their skills and abilities, thus they get thoroughly prepared for their final placement and to face the challenges of the competitive world. The employers are able to get experienced candidates fresh from colleges and usually they have no issues absorbing them in their organization.

A few examples of WLCI students working as Trainees in HT (Media) are Amit kumar Das, Noida , Mustafa Aftab Rasool, Delhi, Suraj Singh, Delhi and Hannah Angeline in Hyderabad. A large number of other students have been placed successfully with the top organizations for traineeship purposes and most of them eventually get absorbed in the organization itself on a permanent basis based upon their performance.
