It is riot of colours and never before varieties of flashy umbrellas, including those which are differently shaped. You name it they have it.
The Alapuzha-based Popy Umbrella Mart, the leader in the branded segment, has launched at least 30 varieties of umbrellas this monsoon, says its Chairman T V Scaria.

The crystal umbrellas are for both men and women and are the most expensive, he said.
To catch the imagination of the children, Spiderman, Barbie and laser umbrellas are among those which have been launched. The fabric has Spiderman and Barbie motifs while the handles sport the favourite characters of the kids.
New shapes, ‘Pagoda´ and flat umbrellas, are also in market along with five fold ‘Max´, smallest in the segment.

‘Atom´, priced at Rs 385, is their five-fold smallest umbrella, while ‘Splash´, carrying a price tag of Rs 195, spews water, making it attractive for children, Thayyil told PTI.
