Q: Which one is better, One year MBA Program or Two year MBA Program? Discuss the advantages and the disadvantages of the two.
One year MBAs are usually available to people only with high no of yrs on work experience. May be around 5 years or more. Two years MBA is available to all. Recommended is a one year MBA program for people more than 5 years work experience while for people less than that should go in for a 2-year program.
There are no advantages or disadvantages. It is just that when one has high amount of work experience, the one year MBA covers the relevant parts for them and avoids the repetitive experiences.
So as a fresher its always a better to opt for an mba of 2 years which covers rather all aspects of management.

one yr mba which i am doing it from university of southampton (UK) is for the experience mangaers and i dont think students should go for this mba ..because we international students face lot of problem while adujusting to the system of this ppl how it works and by the time we get use to it the course gets over....so my personal reccomendation is go for 2 yr MBA

one year or two year MBA it all depends on the background one has.
like if one is looking for one year mba then lot of points are to be considered like location, adapting to the culture(foriegn),specialisation as one year mba's are mostly general management in nature.
more over two year mba gives the flexibility of choosing the specialisations.
I feel MBA gives us the opportunity to develop contacts in our field which is possible in the case of two year mba than one year.

I guess if you have more experience ...and you need extra edge to move forward in career then 1 yr MBA will be a good idea..but if you are at early stage of career then i guess 2 yrs MBA would be the best..to hone the skills

I prefer 1 year, cause time is limited source in the career path. Instead of spending 2 years, I would rather prefer spending one year at the field to improve technical skills, and afterwards I would develop diverse financial and management skills on this background.
