Wishful thinking. As long as people are greedy and spend beyond their means bubbles like these will happen and bust.

There are some signs started to emerge that recession is coming to an end. I think the recession will last till the october of 2009.

first of all, this is not a recession....atleast for us here in india...
recession is two straight quarters of negative growth, and it's nowhere the case here...
yes, its a slowdown, and we wont, i feel, come out of it so easily, as the market sentimentis very pessimistic...
i'll say, maybe by second half of 20010-11...
till then, every rise in the market will be fllowed by a steep fall...

US is surely under recession. As far as India is concerned, its not facing recession, but effects of recession in US, Japan.Simply to understand, during recession demand goes down, as a result Indian exports get affected too, lowering the economic activity. Also outsourcing gets reduced , so lesser work for Indian corporates, hence less employment opportunities etc.
When it will end, no one really knows. All one can say is that historically recession has an average life of around 2 yrs.So lets hope by the end of 2010, good times will begin.

Recession can come to an end when measures are adopted by the Government to tackle it.
First step can be tax cuts, secondly it can create more jobs in the manufacturing sectors of the country, thirdly it increase the export against the initial export and lastly reduce the oil prices which can have a positive impact on the importers.

The slump (Not Recession) in india is the result of economic downturn in developed countries like USA & European countries. Being a connected economy the tremors will be felt here also, but individually Indian economy is in good shape internally.

Recession in USA, Canada, Japan and European countries as predicted by economist's might end by 2010.India on the otherhand is not facing recession but only a slowdown (Domino effect).

I think recession is more in the minds than reality, as people are more frightened of losing jobs than they are actually

see stock market follows a cyclic pattern, the market firstly goes up and up and reaches the maximum, and then the market falls aflls, and ends very low.
market reached all time high of 22k which was nto justified.
Q) why i m saying that market at 22k was not justified?
ANS) see, the market should have ideally reached 16-18k, due to the cyclic trend and due to globalization etc, but it reached 22k mainly due to endlss funding coming to the indian companies by the FII's. due to the funding coming, there was a lot of money with the companies to invest in the development program and this led to market sentiments getting better and the prices kept going up.
"US economy" was the first to fall prey to recession and the US went into depression. now the FII's which had invested in INDIAN companies, went BEAR because oof this recession in US, so they withdrew all their money from the INDIAN COMPANIES, now if suddenly so much money will move out of the economy, so obviously it will go down. as a result of withdraw of FII's. the INDIAN economy also ent into depression. and the index crashed from 22k to 8k.
in 2008, the market went to an astonishing 22k, which is the all time high, and it's a simple fact that BIGGER THE BUBBLE, DEEPER IS THE BUST. the bubble of 22k was a huge one, so the bust following it must also be big.
and now we are in the declining phase of the life cycle f STOCK MARKET.
so market will remain low for the coming 3-4rs.

Honey...
Its like saying.."Oh look here - I fell down and got dirt all over... oh My God... its so dirty...Why on earth did this have to happen???"
If u got dirt around dust it and get up and get going!
Recession is the time to Think Creative. Turn the difficulty into an opportunity. All of us have been used to spoon feeding... systems already exist so that we have never taken the pain to work hard on creating one.
What makes you think that you cannot find an opportunity? May be the company u r looking at, does not prefer your service..or will required more competencies. Either ways the loud message is "Advance from here..dont be stuck"

this recession is not a general cyclical recession rather its more of a structural recession hence it will last till end of 2010 but in developing countries it will last in early 2010.
