After all services r far much better. and now a days low cost airlines are also bomming

yea it should be privatised...,At least, when it comes to airlines, we have options. Out treatment in skies may compromise for the shoddy treatment at the land (Though I wish it gets far better than what it is now). The point I am trying to make is, A lot needs to be fundamentally changed when it comes to public services in our country. All we speak of is a few thousand foreigners' (in)convenience in our airports. I agree that we need to present our airports better than what they are now. First, let us elect responsible human beings and then ask them to deliver us good products and services. with brainless nicks, our words go to deaf ears. Let us elect Humans!!!

well yes as rightly said by vijith.......airport privatisation shud be done by now.....
the most common cmplaint bout the airport services has been the delays in the flights......now this has been bcoz of the fact tht ther r so many airlines tht have come up, so bcoz of the increased aorline traffic, ther is not enuf space in our airprts to cater to all airlines......thus modernisation wil ensuree better schedules management and also quick entry and exit.....

tht was my view i m sure ther r many such reasons wich wil prove beneficial if airprts r privatised.......wat r ur views????

Privatisation in India today has brought changes on much of +ve criteria.. If u see the companies which have been privatised or it being our bses.. Privatisation of airlines is something needed on a very anteriority way because of the money minting power of india today... Services have to be offered and i quote this again services have to be offered when there is a paid price... So if the people are willing to pay which they are majorly than the services have to be offered in the most proficient way possible and i believe privatisation can bring that change. So yah currently i would stick with privatisation being a boon rather than bane..!:horn:

yeah i completely agree that when it comes to airlines it shuld be privatised. a recent statistics showed that the airports of mumbai & delhi ranked 126th & 127th in the world respectively out of 135.
moreover the commonwealth games are being held in delhi in 2009, so it becomes more important to privatise the airports.
also on the other hand a notice should be taken on the current employees working in these airport.

Airlines should not be privatised :p .

If its privatised, then air rates can shoot up anytime. Low cost this cost that cost.. all holds true until there is cut throat competition.

What if, all companies make a association and hike the rates ?
What if, the service goes low for low cost airlines
What if, there are terrorists transported and the records are all biased bcoz its a private company.

I would definately OBJECT for privatisation in airlines

definitely privitisation is good for economy...as now even middle class can dream of travelling on an airplane which would have otherwise been a distant dream for an average indian....but also we have seen due it is badly maintained aircrafts..more technical sngs which mit lead to major concers in long run

i also think that airlines should be privatized as the aviation sector is having great scope of development and as private player tend to have a faster growth as compared to the public organization ...it is ultimately going to provide good services to the customers at a lower cost .

Well I think there should be a combination of both as government airlines would keep a check on one private airline gaining monopoly by acquiring all the small ones. If there is monopoly afterwards that airline will raise the price may be even more than the current market prices. But it is true that the government airlines has to be more competitive.

I wud say complete privatisation of Airlines shud nt the concept.Without having proper infrastructure in place,there is no point in saying abt the low cost airlines.The low cost airlines have gone hay-wire in developed market esp US.So in order to increase the competition and as a regulator Govt has to do with PPP(Public Private Partnership).The example of a sector which is completely out of the Govt control is Telecom sector.Though there is money flow,there is no consumerism and no telecom company is gng to rural areas.Still there is a huge gap in telecom growth in Rural and urban sectors.

So I would say PPP will boost the Aviation sector.

well...if things r going to improve...y cant v giv private entreprenuers a fair chance????? with job security?
