How foolish is times group ??

How dumb is the media ??

Instead of focusing on major issues, uncovering eyeopening news, the media is focusing on stupid things like a small restaurant in the mumbai who tried to encash on Hitlers name.

I mean COMEON ... prince, hitler, mahim sweet water... If it had not been the media.. no one would have known about that event .. there wouldnt have been a go-hum about this incident.

Focus on politics, indias economy, instead of why malika sherawat kissed in this movie so and so number of times or why so and so singer has 2 wives .

Where is the true journalism anyways ?

Newspapers and news channels have a profound effect on our lives and the way we see the world.

Why cant the journalists and the media focus on issues like " Sun TV showing half naked dance bedroom scenes " and counter argue with the government about the BAN on english channels.

Sometimes I wonder if this is the worlds largest democracy ??

Yes i know that the media is focussing at petty issues like Hitler cafe or the Mahim creek incident.
I would have prefered if it was about the issues like the Quota Bill which has a creamy layer coverage or the moral policing we are subjected to in the name of the blanket ban on A rated subject.
But i guess now with the 24x7 news channels coming up they do not have so much news to cover all day long.So they sensationalise such petty news.
And I also feel that somehow they have a audience for such news otherwise how can one explain the cropping up of a new news channel every month.

TIMES is the worst media company in India. It caters only to the Page 3 socialites and 'celebrities' . Kartik..it is not right for us to expect anything better frm them.

Regd media as a whole, 24/7 news channels is one of the reasons for such mundane issues taking centrestage. Because they dont have any other news, they will just crap in the name of news like Mahim creek controversy, Prince's rescue act, some professor in love with someone else etc...

In India, where every govt institution is inflicted in corruption, we have only the judiciary and the media to look up to. But the media is forgetting its responsiblity of providing news to the masses. Instead it is more concerned abt their TRP ratings and circulation numbers of their newspapers.

i guess the times people are doing a gr8 job......just imagine that they had functioned the Utopian way..then there would be no need for the a discussion on this topic...and it is only because of these agencies that we feel the helplees of various other macro variables......

but it is rightly said "there is darkness below the lamp...."

role of media in india needa revision...media in india is highlighting some of the trifling facts with some bombastic words and pompous headlines. The question of why and what is still missing...The role of media can b critical in the democratic country like ours where media can enlighten the people.....yesterdays comment by Vasundhra Raje on the death of 5 illfated people was appalling/disgusting..How can such irresponsible person lead a state...
media has capability to revive the strenght of democracy anywhere if used in meaningful manner..They should shift there intrest from bollywood type frivilous topics to countries need and reform.
