Is India really shining!!!???

Well I would'nt say she is shining like a Solitaire Diamond, but I feel the artists are working on it. There has being improvement in various sectors of the country. Literacy rate has being rising,per capita income has being increasing, there is growth in GDP,the market is bullish most of the times, companies like relaince are making huge projects like the Hariyana project, the Bangalore & Chennai International airports, Electronic cities, etc etc.

But what we lack in is as always infrasturcture, better management,etc etc.. But all these are big things which we as individuals can't do. What we can do is work on clealiness for example.....even us educated people through the wrappers on roadsides. If we make a little effort to watch it, it will b a gr8 help to the Govt. also.....

So as I sed India is on the way to shine, and it will shine with both our & Govt. efforts.....

as foll points culd proves frm my side..
Infrastructures is improving a lot.. if v see the roads or railways or an mumbai structure before 2 yrs also, there is a change in high rise bldgs, roads, like flyovers in mumbai, express ways etc.. the infra is improving frm metro trains to bldgs and all over india.. so just see the boom in property rates,its a gr8 change.

Kashmir is opened for tourist and yes v r seeing the rush towards kashmir.. which is beautiful.. so it gives a real shine to india. and ofcourse tourism sector has developed a lot frm past yrs..

now the IT boom.. tht every1 knows... the real shine of INDIA belongs in young generation which is purely seen frm the devt and contacts and education boom and even americans demands Indians more.

The privatisation of electricity in the hands of Reliance energy shows improvement. not only electricity but whole pvt sector is developing a lot..
and i believe it will show a r8 way in future too..

so acco to me.... INDIA IS REALLY REALLY SHINING....

Rural areas that account for 70% of INDIAN population and approx. 70% of the land area is still awaiting for just being noticed. here people still live in darkness as ther is no electricity, no puccka roads, nor proper communication services are available.

Then what infrastructural development r u talking about?
This means infrastructural development is only in 30% of the country:fear:

INDIA is the 125th happiest country in the world, according to a world map of happiness prepared by noted british scientist adrian white.

The study is based on data from 178 countries and findings of over 100 different studies around the world, which questioned 80,000 people. Participants were asked questions related to happiness and satisfaction.

The analysis showed that a nation’s level of happiness was closely associated with health levels,followed by wealth and provision of education.

So INDIA needs improvement is these areas too:

Guyz i m not being negative but we need to understand & accept the harsh reality that india even though is making a steady progress, it also needs to concentrate on those masses that everyday are struggling for a living. :frusty:

India should now have a strict check on its development and see to it that it is not only confined to selected areas but to every nook n corner of the country.

The so called terrorist countries do have innocent people. We just can't bomb the whole country out. And talking about Terror, we all can't forget Mumbai blasts. Such powerful weapons, such a master plan went fool-proof and no1 means no1 understood when it was formulated?????

I really can't beleive it, for the simple fact that such people comming into the country, such weapons entering without being caught is simply impossible. If we have a pair of sissors in bag they make us remove it at the security checking at the airport, n they brought so much inside and no 1 understood. It definately has political hand otherwise it is impossible. So just bombing out "terrorist counties" is not atall the solution. What we realize from all these incidents is that the problem is with us at the 1st place. We have to improve on everything 1st and then look out for pointing other countries......

After 9/11 US has not faced any terrorist attack. In fact quite a few attacks were thwarted. Does it mean that America's attack on Afghanistan and Iraq has helped in reducing terrorism. The answer is a definite no. On the other hand, their attack on the 2 countries will just incite more attacks. If that is so, why has there been no attack in US since 9/11. The answer lies in intelligence.

9/11 showed a severe intelligence failure on America's part. But US learned from its mistakes and they have strengthened its systems to a gr8 level. They have taken all possible steps to increase security and thus thwart the entry of either terrorists or weapons in the country.

But in India we never learn. Bomb blasts have become a two year ritual now. We had blast in ghatkopar, zaveri bazaar, parle and now this multiple blasts. But the intelligence agencies just don't learn. If they can go ahead and capture atleast 4-5 people after every blast and if they are possible to track down LET modules and close it down....please just answer my question..why aren't they able to do this before any attack and thwart it..It's becasue of absolute failure and lack of a political will. the govt wud rather be interested in thinking about increasing reservations and more interested in naming roads.

Its a pity. Do you really think that if we go and bomb PoK, we will be free of terrorism? Doing so will just create more terrorists. But we have to start cleaning our internal system. We need to have a powerful intelligence agency similar to Mossaud of Israel. Mossaud is even considered mightier than CIA. They are able to plant moles in their enemies territories. IB and RAW need to wake up from their sleep and get into active mode. This will atleast ensure that such deadly and barbaric acts of terror are not repeated in India every year.

as v r indians and v believe in humanity.. so as human.. our culture says not to harm humans...
somy personal view is
wht will happen if v also destroy them than v also will be in the same category of terrorist and there will be no dif btwn them and us..
India is multi culture country...
though v fight for our rights everytime and v have some defects in our govt. too..
but yet v r indians...

Welll most of u agree that the countries shouldn’t b bombarded.

But since this is a debate n 1 has to take the opposite stand or else where’s the fun????????

So I would like to like to voice my opinion against the motion…..

We simply cannot batten down the hatches and try to cope with every conceivable thing the terrorists can imagine to do. They’ve already done some unimaginable things. The biggest challenge will be deciding how to deal with countries that allow terrorists to prosper within their borders.

Terrorists do not function in a vacuum. They don’t live in Antarctica. They work, they train and they plan in countries.

The best way to get at the terrorist networks is to drain the swamp they live in. The Al Qaeda network has thousands of adherents in more than 60 countries. They are recruited from their own nations and neighborhoods and brought to camps in places like Afghanistan, where they are trained in the tactics of terror & are sent back to their homes or sent to hide in countries around the world to plot evil and destruction. Al Qaeda has links with terrorist groups in other countries.

Iran has long maintained terrorist training and support camps, but has kept quiet about it. But the camps are not invisible from above, and terrorists are constantly getting caught with evidence linking them to Iran.

It does not make sense if u do not realise that ur action can b dangerous for others. And itis also untrue that countries that support terrorism have not been warned. And if u can afford to ignore warnings then b ready to pay for it........

so
i dont agree that govt is taking any efforts in controlling price rise.
as i personally think tht the govt is just controlling the International rupee rate.
as by viewing the stock market and our retail sector.. its just booming up and yet increasing more and more.
petrol prices has gone up more far and no action taken acco to middle men.
now the transportation cost has increased and yet this high rise price is also rising seen in property rates
as the main factor is TAX which has increased.. inspite of taking more from high class and concession to lower class.. its a vice versa..
the efforts are not seen at all..
all r here just to benefit themselves..

so i dont think govt is taking effort to control pricing and inspite the condition is gettin opposite..

so these r my views...

INDIA HAS RAISED PETROL AND DIESEL PRICES BY 7% IN RESPONSE TO A SURGE IN GLOBAL OIL PRICES. BY DOING SO THE GOVT. WANTED TO SUBSTANTIALLY RECOVER THE PROJECTED LOSSES………….. BUT THEN A GREAT DEAL DEPENDS ON WHAT EXACTLY HAPPENS WITH THE INTERNATIONAL OIL PRICES

WHEN THE INTERNATIONAL PRICES RISE, WE EXPECTED FROM THE GOVERNMENT TO CUT ITS SHARE OF PROFIT AND ITS REVENUE EARNINGS AND SHARE THE BURDEN OF THE INCREASE WITH THE COMMON MAN. INDIA IMPORTS MORE THAN 70% OF ITS CRUDE OIL NEEDS WHICH ARE REFINED AND RETAILED BY THE STATE-OWNED OIL COMPANIES. THIS REFLECTS THAT WAT ATERRIBLE EFFECT IT IS GOIN TO HAVE ON THE CONSUMERS.


ALSO DUE TO THE INCREASE IN PRICE OF PETROLEUM PRODUCTS…….THERE HAS BEEN A TREMENEOUS RISE IN THE TRANSPORTATION COST ………WHICH HAS INTURN INCREASED THE PRICS OF FRUITS, VEGETABLES, GRAINS & OTHER ESSENTIAL COMMODITIES.

THE GOVERNMENT HOWEVER HAS NOT CHANGED THE PRICE OF COOKING GAS AND KEROSENE, WHICH IS USED AS A COOKING FUEL BY THE POOR. BUT THIS IS A TEMPORARY PHASE….AND ALSO TELL ME IF THEY CANNOT BUY TO COOK THEN WAT USE IS THE COOKING GAS AND KEROSENE.


NOT ONLY THIS BUT THERE HAS BEEN AN INCREASE IN INTEREST RATES WHICH MADE LOANS EXPENSIVE, TAX IS HIGH.............PROPERTY RATES R HIGH........ETC

THE COMMON MAN IS SUFFERING DAILY N NOTHING IS BEING DONE BY THE GOVT.............IT HAS AGAIN COME UP WITH PROMISES ...NEVER TO FULFILL..........A PROTEST WAS ALSO HELD AGAINST THIS ........BUT ALL IN VAIN.

This is a question, which cannot be answered in a simple yes or no. Simply coz any country, be it developing or developed need a mix of both people. You need good number of managers as well as 'smart' people, who have creative and entrpreneurial talents

Firstly, lets start with MBA. MBA is just a degree (period). Recently in India, there is this worng notion going around that an MBA is the final frontier in your life. Parents force their children to go for an MBA even though his/her like may lie somewhere else. Please appreciate the fact that an MBA does not ensure you success in life. You success only lies where you interest lies. Take the case of Bill Gates or Dhirubhai Ambani. Did they need an MBA to become such a huge success. They had great talent, hard work and determination to succeed in this world. MBA does give you the skills, the learning to become a manager. But some people are destined to be entrepreneurs and not just managers.

Regarding smart people, not everyone is born smart. Each one has their own skill sets, which if used correctly will lead to success. So there will always be some people, who are born with such talent or who gain talent through expereince to become a success story. For some this may not be so. They go for their MBA, they learn new skills in the B schools and then try to apply those in the corporate world.

As I said before, we need a mix of both these breeds.
