Today, dahi handi is no longer a festival. It is a publicity gimmick controlled by political parties and corporates.
And more to that,
This year, Sinuous belly dancers from Ukraine and Mumbai entertained the audience, which included State finance minister Jayant Patil and public works minister Chhagan Bhujbal besides several MPs and MLAs, at a dahi handi function organised by the NCP at Kherwadi, Bandra East, on Sunday.
SO whatz ur views on this topic friends???

hi...all...yes janmastami is pure political game...to grab support for their campain...this is really bad for our festives...
even festives like ganesh chaturthi has become political play...to be favourite among the supporters...

No I am strongly against it as it only helps people do more things as we seen in recent Dhahihandi festival in thane.

I wud say money is not runing the spirit of the festivals.Money is actually commercialising the festivals. If someone is ready to pool money anything can be done for them during festivals.Politics is certainly ruining the spirit of the festival. All festivals are classified based on religion and only a section of ppl celebrate it while other section is envious about it.The fear of the community stops them from celebrating it.Moreover politicians are making a show during festive seasons.

Yeah, it has coloring or ruining everything that can be possible.
I think it will tak time, till our country matures, education is reached to every nook n corner, coz then only public understands what really they require.
