How would you define life?

We all live, we all have plans to live. How would you define life - is the big question that crops up in my mind whenever I'm worn out, tired of persuading my goals.
Do you know what Life is? Is it all about just staying alive? Is it the rat race we run, the show-offs we make, the feelingless competitions that we take part in, the things we try to do and satisfy ourselves? Or is Life the uphill or downhill ride that we go through till we breathe our last? Is Life the mourn of the poor, the glory of the rich?
What do we accomplish undermining others for our own benifits? Is life all about the rich getting richer and the poor poorer? Is Life all about dealing with social trauma and problems, the risks we face every moment in every step? Or is it just the ceaseless conversion of potential energy into kinetic energy? What defines life the best - science, philosophy, or our own experiences? Why do we run after name and fame, even when we have to leave our bodies on this earth one day? Why do we spend thousands for our looks, even when what goes with us is our deed or 'Karma', while our looks rot away beneath the earth? Why do we tend to fight each other, reach the top by crooked means, even when we know that our activities are sure to be questioned by God, when we sail into the eternal ocean?

Let us talk about it guys. A definite answer for all these, perhaps, can't be expected, but there is no harm in involving in a discussion!

Good thought and good initiative.
I am not so experienced with respect to life since I am just 23
so have a long way to go...But according to my experiences life is something which has to be lived and to be learned along the way...when u come across some hurdles,pains,sorrows it is our test which we have to pass no matter what and u cant escape things which u come across..

Well according to me and my experiences........life is more like wrestling than dancing or it can be dancing to the tunes of the environment around you..........sometimes u feel angry,,hurt,,sad,,,happy,,ecstatic.......but u have to take it in the best of the spirits and move on in lyf

and moreover for me.... life is just making ppl happy and to keep them smiling whoever they may be whether you knw them or you dont....whether have u met them or not.

and further...follow this rule as i follow it....

Argue but agree more
Talk but listen more
Punish but forgive more

Life is a gift from parents, and we need to cherish, enrich it. Its an experience, a journey to discover what we find solace in.

With minimum of fuss, no back stabbing, cheating, hurting others. Never try to change or curse anyone else. Let them do their part of mistakes and do ours. what most things u quoted are absolutely true. All of us get engulfed in our own world, with unlimited wants to satisfy. Most of which doesnt make any difference to our life, than satisfyiing our self esteem n ego.

Rat Race, I dont know what ppl get from it, its last thing I want to get into. Yes, money does matter and accumulating the same leads us to all sorts of derogatory things and this race.

I think everyone needs to realise what r the most imp things we need after all. Some money, gal - true love n parent to look after. Then y be victims of our own Big Self image. Y shud we fall in so much love with ourselves. After all no one is indispensable. Loads of money and material comforts wont give anyone as much solace as in the arms of a doting spouse with and some money to survive.

Think off what happens even if we die today, its makes absolutely no difference to the world. Family will mourn, friends will mourn, but eventually nothing in the world changes.

So whatever time we have, it shud be spent in living the moment that we would like to cherish once we are bed ridden, or cannot be active in life. Actually its just like Chetan Bhagats speech posted few days back.

Going through the reviews i realisd that each one of them is correct and each is perfect since life is all that "U" think it is. no one but u can judge what life means to you... Third party perspective does not really matter here...
And well if u ask for my way of looking at what life is i'll tell you, it depends. I am not really rigid about such topics it keeps on changing from time to time. As of now i can look at life from 3 different perspectives viz.
[a] Biological
[b] Logical and
[c] Spiritual
Now the first way is the one adopted by Charles Darwin wherein, life is an opportunity that you get to populate the world with your own kind just like wild animals. we try to attract the most attractive, healthy(s**y), intelligent, potent female which would ensure healthy & competent offspring that could generate more of our type. That is the reason why we work our lifes off and aspire to be successful, just to attract the best females and after that to make sure our children can do the same.
Maybe that is why we let our eyes wander off to others girlfriends and wont mind being the father of others childs but get ticked off if some other guy eyes ur girlfriend because u do not want to encourage the populating of some one elses kind. That is the rule of entire animal kingdom and according to Darwin even we fall in the same category.
Well to digest this theory u would need to be highly rational & logical.

Now comes the second perspective of looking at life, i.e. logically. As per this life is a very short duration you get to fulfill all your desires, dreams and ambitions. You can ofcourse gain success by any means necessary in this duration or sacrifice a few dreams. Or it can be lived happily by being satisfied with what you get, but then their is no meaning to life then.

In that case we come to the third way of seeing life 'Spiritually' where it is seen as an opportunity to rectify all your sins of past life in order to attain a place in heaven OR to commit as maby sins and let your soul burn in the fires ofU hell for eternity.


Well, as of this moment this is how 'I' will define life. It might again be different at a latter point in life. Again i'll Appretiate all the previous opinions n say "life is what U want to make of it"
