As just now we celebrated our 61st Independence Day,
Does bollywood's patriotic films like RDB, Yuva, Swades, Bhagat Singh, etc make impact on Indians' minds???

Not at all. Otherwise Manoj Kumar would have transformed the nation. And wud have been worshipped. As soon as we step out of Cinema Hall or Mall now, we comment n forget it.

Life keeps moving. Ppl do get the message, and promise a lot to themselves n friends but ultimately the effect fades off.

Ask som1 abt the latest Patriotic message film, will scramble, Range De Basanti, Lagaan n stuff.

Very few movies make such an impact - maybe Rang De Basanti or a Taare Zameen Par or Swades. But even this impact is short-lived as you come out and face the traffic, by the time you are home, its gone

If serial bomb blasts did not affect us. If we were running to the office the very next day, then a 3 hour patriotic session cannot brainwash us from the stereotype we're accustomed to.

agreed with kartik. a 3 hour movie cannot make impact on anyone to be patriotic, lets take the example of Rang De Basanti, after seeing the movie, how many people rose voice against the bad???? no one..........

I wud certainly say tht these movies have made an impact on the Indian minds.Ppl will not forget those movies cos the movie is creating an impact on those minds.But the moral of those movies stays in the mind and slowly evades as time goes by.This condition is wat is called the "Utopia".Ppl are happy to see tings are proper atleast in the screen for quite sometime and they pray the same shud happen in the future.So the movie is revered in ppl minds.Moreover,movies like Jodha Akbar,Bhagat singh tend to picture the lives of freedom fighters.This is becoming like reading a whole book about Bhagat Singh.So ppl,more importantly students,come and watch the movie.Patriotism is thre in all the ppl.We need not have any movies to make us remember that.But reality is lot diff from perception.So ppl tend to digest the reality and start proceeding towards their work.

See, again, most of the film viewers are youth specially school going youths who go to a movie for entertainment. Ofcourse, the films impact them for a short time, but after 3hours its back to normal. One more thing to point out is if the film promotes bad habits like smoking as a cool thing, that is imbibed by the audience readily as opposed to things like patriotism.

movie surely makes a impact on Indian minds...may be short term or very very short term but they do...if u c RDB or A wednesday...n are silent for next couple of hrs that ur affected by it...what matters is what steps u take after that.............

or take TZP......ppl nw knw hw to deal with Dyslexia or are atleast aware of such kind of disorder..........
