It is absolutely very upseting to hear that there have been bomb blasts in Mumbay and even worse that the government machinery especially the police force are either very inefficient or worse could not care for the common man. News reports state that the police arrived anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour after the blasts and instead of being of any help started beating up the local rescuers who were helping the injured from the train and consoling those in shock. This kind of behaviour should be condemed. If such is the condition in our country i fear for the future of both us citizens and the country as a whole because this is like living in a democracy but where the government machinery works not for but against the people

In this case the media is relatively fair i have just been in touch with a friend who was at Mahim and she confirms the fact that what followed the blasts was absolute inefficiency of the government machinery and the police force in particular

Its quite a shame people making this kinda statements on the basis of watching tv channels. I suggest you to make a party ill vote for you to see if you could make a difference on ydays situation. There you are saying the police where doing nothing believe me i was there and camera people do not show you the total facts. If they show reports that police were working out what they could do, doing they best there wouldnt be any sensation so they opt to go for inefficiencies and hype them out. I say you do not have the right to comment if you were not there, without knowing the facts of the case.
I dont want to comment on any fact that the system is corrupted or not but what i can commment on is, "It being corrupted or not is not the issue here, was it there to help or not" is the question to be asked.. You cant expect indian police to be on the spot after 5 mins of anything happening because you dont have the technology nor the infrastructure to pass this messsage across in such less time and be there.. But from what i saw since the police was there they have been working hard, i didnt see a single lathi charge infact i saw them as very efficient managers who tried to co-ordinate the best out of the situation keeping the people calm because if every thing was left on the people there would have been utter kiosk as the spirit to help was there but without the co-ordination of police no one would know where to take the casualities through which road, which hospitals. ??
Infact even traffic police was there to help to show the way with the kiosk around. Nextly i would like to say thank you to shiv sainik though i hated them for calling a bandh on sunday just to show political power but they were the helping hand in the crisis situation providing basic necessities to the people.

Hi Folks,
You cannot have a police behind every citizen and I guess the police in Mumbai are doing their best (of course with the help of people) to bring the situation under control. So pointing fingers at them should not be encouraged. After all they are also humans.

hey, deepakram, i'm with all here whose opinion is inefficiency of police again in the tragedic conditions like ystrdy- 7 BOMBBLASTS IN 12 MINUTES IN MUMBAI'S WESTERN RAILWAY TRAINS.
so embrassing that was!!!
the strange thing is they (govt.) were not coming aftr half-n-hour of bomb blasts, and the shivsena people were helping the people who were injured or dead.
Several modules of Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT) and Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) have been busted and huge amount of explosive materials, including RDX, recovered during raids at various places in Aurangabad, Nasik and Nagpur in the last two months.
During investigations, it also came to light that similar modules of LeT were actively operating in several towns of Maharashtra, besides Hyderabad and Bangalore.
what was planning in these 7 serial blasts in just 12 mins? - very strange -who done it? these all questions r on head now to all mumbaikars as well as govt.
by concerning all this, we get to know that the killers hav right eye on the MAHARASHTRA .as frm 1993 onwards, they trying to blast the cities all over maharashtra. so take care frnds, if wants any help, tell to mp. we r here.
P.S. :- Importantly, the mp members who lives in western suburbs, do not hear from here & there, as the news could be rumours...mostly...plz...bye.

hey i agree with bhavin we cant blame police for everythin... there r policemen who try to do their best. Not only did they co ordinate everybody but but had to stay whole night there to get those debirs away.. n the way our railway managed to start on ful swing i dont think others could ve... its quite easy to sit watch n criticize but when it comes to takin action its we who say " its not our work"

yes the police cant be blamed for eveything...there are 30000 odd policemen in the city whose population is well over 1 crore. And a good number among them are assinged to protect the VIP's and other things like BSE and temples etc.
Due to such lack of manpower they are overworked and they are grossly underpaid for their efforts.
And the media seem to highlight the negative aspects by focussing on the cops who did not do their duty rather than those who did.
I say that rather than blaming the cops we should applaud the people who came forward to help.
