Will if benefit the government is a far fetched story, right now I worry about the Nano's and the yeni's that these car manufacturers seem to mushroom.
I wonder if the fuel will be costlier than the equipment some day ;)

Fuel high is justified. Loss of 2,25,000 crores is not a small amount. It is better to pay more for oil than having no oil.
Govt. has tried its level best to avoid a fuel price hike. But it is inevitable.

i think the decision is fair but due to inflation it will have a negative impact on economy.already the inflation is so high and rupe has weakened so much
but any economy growing as fast as india (infact india and china are the leaders in gdp percentage growth)this is bound to happen
wel upa has a tough fight ahead.
another thing in developed countries the per capita energy consumption is huge.the use suvs and pickup trucks in america to move around like we use bus and auto.if they can switch to cars like nano and bikes like hero honda passion or pulsars that will make the present condition so much better
and by the way india imports 70-80% from outside global prices at 130$ so having petrol prices at home constant was not at all possible
well regarding fuel i think india should do something more than jus increasing prices
in the western countries there is alot of research going on alternative fules but in india we do not see a thing like that infact for the collection of lternative fuels like biodiesel in eastern region there is only one collection centre in bhubhaneshwar
well alternative fuels like biodiesel and ethanol have great prospects.in us they use corn and soya for making ethanol which is the biological alternative of petrol
i think i will start a thread on biodiesel a reality or hoax
in the hot debates thread please move there for more info
