Here's what i have from my notes...

CPM:- Cost Per Thousand

It is the cost to reach 1000 target audience, whether households or individuals.


CPM = Cost Per Slot
------------------------------------
No. Of Households watching per 1000


Example:-
If a TV spot cost Rs. 30,00,000/- and reaches 3,00,000 homes, the cost per thousand homes is 10,000
i.e.
Homes -------------> Cost
3,00,000 30,00,000
1000 ?
=

30,00,000 x 1000
---------------------
3,00,000

Hey,

to ankitgokani: Yep I know what you meant but was responding to the query of dk2424 about what cpm in ssm was.

to dk2424: thats the only CPM concept in SSM (the one I've written about above), its related to the topic of Media Research - how to decide your budget allocation based on which media channel is more effective i.e. gets you most exposure.
