i went through the list and i remember having read this issue in which they had mentioned that the survey includes only colleges which offer 1 year courses(for eg : it doesnt include ISB) and some colleges do not co-operate with them and as a result they are also not included.

well my personal opinion(i dont know if it may count) we should always try to find some people who are there in the respective colleges maybe through pur friends or through other contacts.

well if at all i get any i would definitely post here...

Hey Vipin..!!

The purpose of this ranking is to give jst a brief idea on hw the b-schools stand.. But this ranking tend to differ frm magazine to magazine to experts etc. As rankings are evaluated on different criteas
1) Course Pattern
2) Cut-offs
3) Infrastructure
4) Placement
5) Faculty..

So at the end of the day its up to the student what are his priorities towards the B-School.

P.s : This ranking are majorly provided for 2 yr MBA course offered by the universities. Principally they are based on a single major course..

E.g if NMIMS is ranked 17th for 2 Yr Mba Full Time Programme that does not mean that it having an MBA TECH or as in this any other course shall be of the same ranking..!! Its is mainly for the main course offered by the B-school..

Well daredevil u can't say totally influenced but yes to some extent they are.. Infact sometimes its the univ which provide wrong information to manipulate their rankings.. Infact jam nd other publication had put across this article wherein IIPM wz exposed.. IIPM boosting abt it being one of the top ten b-schools in many magz has actually never reached that position .. So it is sometime influenced but reputed magz dont do it for money mebbe some wrong info provided by institution or lack of research..!! :panda:

Dude i dont deny that, they are pretty much manipulated.. There have been many instances where deserving institutes have been dwn the order while unknwn once have climbed the ladder..!!
Bworld i believe tends to bring more of genuine rankings and have better research methodogies on outlook i wouldnt like to comment much though..!!

Lol u cant follow all the rankings in the magz..
I believe you would feel much more secure going through the frs post of this thread for ranking i belive they are pretty much near to what the industry stands today..!!

Secondly for sies even i dont believe it to be in frst 25 it might be somewhere in 30's.. XLRI is listed in top 8 univ's today so its a surely yes yes for this institute..!! AS for TISS i believe enigma has put the post..
Now comes the much talked abt B-school of '06 ISB.. Well ISB follows International standards, they have they course as a 1 year mba and they follow gmat as their entrance.. Thats why u wont find ISB in any Indian B-school ranking..!!
Again this three (I cant c any JBIMS nor FMS(Delhi) nor MICA) are among top 20..!! I wonder why they havent put this 1n'z??

I would suggest guyz go for the frst ranking post in this thread and if u find better ranking do post them here...!

going through this thread i can only tell one thing that don't go through these b-school ratings of mags coz they are of no use . These have got many parameters and colleges like ICFAI which has got many faculty all over the country will have very high points on faculty whereas the number of faculty at one center must be pretty less and thus should not get that high rank.Well i have worked on these b-school rankings for myself when i was teaching at CL . Well so if anybody has any doubts regarding the ranks , feel free to ask me.

Exactly my point, u cnt jst expect a 100 thousand Usd pay without being in the industry nd not havin relevant wrk ex..!! Thts y ISB got real high pay packages this time as all candidates dwn der hv a 3-5 yr avg wrk ex..!!

Secondly take this ranking as indicators nd compare cpl of other rankings with it..!! You cant say all of them a manipulated nor all are correct.. Its alwyz better to do you own bit of resarch..!!

Absolutely wrong.

JBIMS ranks No # 1 when it comes to MH - CET rankings .

Secondly, MMS is more recognised than PG course.

The course content of JBIMS is as good as any premiere b-school would have infact with regards to CET Exam it ranks no 1. Secondly MMS being outdated can not be justified though there are institutes who have used this course as "manufacturing business of money". The value of any course can be determined with some absolute parameters
1. Course Content.
2. Placement
3. Professors
4. Peers

So which ever institute you are selecting keep this pointers in mind rather than just hearing about if frm peers and creating a visual framework about the institute...!
