Yes Sex Education should be Made Compulsary in Schools.
Because,
Schools have an important role to play in their capability to impart effective sex education to adolescents. Research reports have shown that when imparted sex education to these young adults in schools it is possible to push back the age at which these children may
experiment with sex. These programs also have the potential to encourage these youngsters to use a condom during their first sexual experience.
However, although schools in the cities and suburbs of India are coming up with innovative health and hygiene workshops that deal with issues like health foods and usage of sanitary napkins, the introduction of comprehensive sex education in schools on a regular basis still remains an subject that principles and the teachers think will bring in a raging controversy surrounding them. The schools and the existing education system in India seemed to be very much biased against conducting such workshops and programs within the school premises, even if they happen to accept the idea in principle.
According to WHO the sex education to children ideally should be imparted at the age of 12 years and above. Even if the records say about 34% of the HIV affected persons are in the age group of 12 to 19 years.

Yes we should provide sex education right from the school. It would help the girls/boys to know about their biological needs with growing age through proper channels and they can analyse the changes in them in a better way. And this will stop the inquisiteness about the the topic and prevent our youth to go crazy about it and waste their golden period in finding the answers to their sex related queries and so on...But at the same time we need to sit and decide the various levels of providing it in a procedural way with a very healthy atmosphere

Do you think that today's child are ignorant abt sex?I' afraid not cos they have unrestricted access to internet thru which they learn abt everyting. Moreover, the problm today is nt abt child raping another one but the prblm is abt a child being raped by principal or a teenager. So we need to shift our focus to them. The children are physically, mentally abused.
Only strict rules against the rapists and other kinda of abusers will end this prblm.

Sex education should be compulsory in schools.. but the intorduction should be very important. The topic should be carefully formulated in a positive way. Neither it should not create an unnecessary enthusiasm about sex nor it should not cerate a fierce about sex on children.

yes, bcoz these days cases of child molestation are on the rise, one of the [primary reason being that they r unaware of what comes under that, teachers being part of the extended family alongwith parents should impart this education.

a professional should do it.
girls and boys shud be together durin the counselling
like v had dr. manoj bhatavdekar for a session it was amazing
and it shouldnt be done just 1ce
but shud b carried out till the end
and a suggestions or a query box should be made available where even anonymous questions shud b treated with respect

Firstly the authority must define what is sex education and give it a better terminology as Indian masses over react to certain terms. And also should come up with a system that benefits all and hurts none and there shoudlnt be any conflicting laws for teachers and policy makers

btw if someone would have read the headlines of Hindustan times, then they would know what disaster the government as going to create with the kit and how scared teachers were on imparting sex education to children. It involoved blindfolding children and making them touch each others parts and recognise them and teach them in such a way. This is what our HRD ministry proposed to do and the teachers were threetened by political groups, if they went ahead with teaching, they would assure they are arrested.

Yes ofcourse its necessary, I completely agree with beone.
In my school days (12th std) we had one seminar given to us on Sex and Aids from a Mission Institution and it was a young woman who was bold enough to teach us about types of sex and positions of sex with pictures. this will help us to have a clear idea of why and what for sex and what are the safety during sex. Hats off to her to give us good information about Aids and Prevention for that also.
this helps younger generation to have a clear picture of what's sex and to be safe from AIDS

i definitely believe that sex ed should be amde compulsary in school. but i remember how uncomfortable we were when askwed to get a signed note from our parents citing their permission for the same. it should be taken by the same teacher who teaches biology, and together for girls and guys, so as not to create an atmosphere of ease. a one-on-one session should be arranged with every student after the seminar to help solve the doubts, if any.
