When today I got news about Barak Obama I was shocked....:mmph::mmph:

Nobel Prize Authority declared to give him award..

Even Gandhiji Didn't got that award..!! :frusty:

No doubt he is a good leader & in favour of peace but do you think that he deserves the Award at this time..?

First of all i don't think Barrack Obama is with peace he's just hiding his activities under the cloak of peace and inside he's a more sinister and blood thirsty jerk head than George The Chimpanzee who couldn't conceal his activities cuz he was a dum ass. And regarding the Noble award ..it was jus given to him to elevate his image as a peace maker which he isn't ...if he deserves it then Rakhi Sawant is also eligible for that award:SugarwareZ-160:

I really dont admire the decision of awarding Mr. Obama with the Nobel Prize. This is the highest honor one gets in his/her field of expertise and definitely Mr. Obama, in my personal opinion, was not even a contender.

he certainly dosen't deserve the nobel prize. i really don't know on what ground he was given. Since when did they start giving nobel prize for planning peace?? if it was implemented and results showed only then will he deserve a nobel peace prize. this actually undermines the past winners and shows disrespect to the past winners. imagine obama on par with mother teresa only for planning peace while for mother teresa you can't actually say anything in words for her because she is more than words.

Well Noble Peace prize to Barrack Obama is totally wrong decision
He do not deserve this prize and i am also not able to understand what he has done on field of peace. After becoming president of United States, he keep on existing strategies of war against Afghanistan on name of Taliban and in Iraq also, what he is doing is not his peace efforts but that's his strategy to grab resources of these countries and even he is destroying lives of his US army soldiers, America keep on attacking pakistan on name of operations against terrorists and due to his operation lots of innocent peoples have also lost their lives in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Pakistan.
If he say that he want nuclear weapon free world, i welcome his statement but why not US become first country to this.

I think Noble peace prize was affected by biasness and pressure of US. I don't think Mr.Obama deserves this prize at all.

If you go and check the noble prize website and if we see that the rule clearly says that that the noble prize has to be given not necessarily to the person who has shown some or significant work for peace but also the one who is in the path of peace establishment can be awarded with this prize. The commete thinks that Obama's talk for Nuclear free world is very promising path for world peace.

The comment was made that after 9 months he has not completed enough yet to qualify for the award. The worst part about the situation is that the decision of who would win the Nobel peace prize was made in February not October. So Barack was only in office for 3 weeks by the time the decision was made. This shows how much of a farce this award has become.

Also, US has been facing 1 of the worst recession crisis that it has ever seen. When the rest of the world is slowly coming out of it, US is still there in the dumps !

I always thought that the Nobel is a lifetime achievement prize. Obama might be the strong contender for the prestigious award, but It would have been more valuable if it had been awarded after his term completion.

There are a lot of promises made by Obama on global warming, nuclear weapons, recession, economic downturn, terrorism and American hegemony. Imbroglios in these issues are on apex. Even the domestic circumstances are challenging. Social issues like public health care, increasing unemployment and economic issue likes bankruptcy of financial giants are threatening. So far we have only promises not the results. Obama has a lot to do.

Unlike other nobel prizes which are selected by a panel of experts, the nobel peace prize is selected by a 5 member panel consisting of norwegian parliamentarians. Of these 5, 3 of the parliamentarians were left wingers this time. So how come did Obama get the prize? Well, lets look at the present geo-political scenario. NATO is struggling in Afghanistan, Iran is becoming more and more of a mess for the US, the middle eastern region isn't the most peaceful, gaza strip still a zone of serious conflict and so on. In such a situation, there is bound to come a time when in order to serve US interests in the best possible manner, Obama "will have" to take seriously aggressive measures. "President Obama" as he were, could well have been able to do that, but now, can the Nobel Peace Prize winner Obama feel guilt free in deploying extra troops, with what face will he attack Iran. If transcends all those shame oriented boundaries to go ahead with the aggressive measures, then he would nullen the credibility of the peace prize given to him, and if he doesnt go aggressive, then he would be doing injustice to the millions who voted for him.

In that case, anyone can promise anything, even though its different whether he iplements it or not.
Obama had promised to stop the ongoing war (which made him noble prize winner!) but we don't see this promise to be fulfilled.
Infact, Obama is 'Just another President' and nothing else!!

Well, he seems to be rather enthusiastic about international peace and tries to promote it his best, but I personally think that Peace Award should be given to a person who actually did something to ensure peace! He didn't have any achievements like that yet! and we don't know for sure if he will! He surely is a good public speaker and knows how to make people believe in what he is saying... Yet he didn't do anything special to deserve it!
