I saw in the news today morning that the professors of IIT across the country have gone on a hunger strike and said that they would not budge unless their demands are met - which ranges from pay structure to other benefits...
Your opinion???
PS: The good news is that the students will not face any problems, because as per the news channels, the classes will be conducted as usual

Rightly mentioned in the above post..its govt's responsibilty to provide good atmosphere to the faculties who add to the repute of these institute.

Over 1,500 teachers of the elite institutes have gone on a hunger strike & the HRD ministry has not responded to their demands, including withdrawal of 40 per cent cap on promotion of professors to senior grade..but however they will not boycot from work.

Giving higher salaries will have effect on fees paid by the students. But at the same time good faculties needs to be retained for quality products to be thrown into market.
It is confirmed fact that the PHD holders are very few compared to other countries. Major factor is lack of good mentors. Good Mentors should be equally compensated as per global remunerations. Hiking fee is not an institute headache. Government has to take ball in his court and help institutes to help countries by churning out quality brands from reputed institutes such as IITs and IIMs
