I think freedom of media is necessary but it doesn't mean that media keep on making unnecessary stories and news for their publicity like India TV which shows useless programmes and i think that channel is also promoting superstition in public by showing programmes like swarg ki seedi, chamikili machli etc useless and meaning less programmes.
Media is also interfering in personal life of leaders, stars, players etc. Like recent incident of Mr Digvijay Singh in M.P during the opening of a pub he just said- "tumhara pub khoo chale sab peein or peeke padee rahein" this statement was given in opening of his closed friend's pub and IBN7 shown this as a breaking news, i think its too much he has not given statement in public meeting it was just like a joke.
So i think media and press is too much interfering in privacy of peoples.

I think media channels today have become more money oriented...they try to hype every small thing to increase their trps...( i dont know how many times thay show news of salman,vivek,aish,abhishek...swine flu panic...mann)
i think media should practice responsible journalism and not try to create fear, anxiety, excitement among the masses for literally nothing...
ofcourse freedom of press is needed..but media should take this thing more responsibly...

More we say on the news channel's right to information, more we hurt ourselves.
I remember when 9/11 happened, terrorists attacked twin towers, CNN news channel did not had any BREAKS, and for 2 days it was telecasting all information LIVE.
News channel showed live telecast on Sanjay - Mandate wedding issue, but same time will ignore of the 2 soldiers, which died in the fierce battle in Kashmir.
All is money... Honey! I think this is the mantra all are following.
Most of the news channels are partnered to one of the political parties. I have no doubts; many politicians would be partner to news channels. But, because of advertisement we have to pay less for buying newspapers, watching news channel on our TV. Revenue is also important for the type of coverage each news channel provides.
But the responsibilities they have as a news provider, has fainted away.

I also feel that media is more interested in Trp's and money rather then giving the correct information to the public.. and all media channels are in the race of becoming number one and hence they show news which attracts more people by hyping the news rather then by giving correct information.... Like media has also started votings or public poll through sms on any topic... like that when a boy named prince fell in the borewell.. they started showing send in your sms and your prayers through sms for the boy.. i mean isn't it stupid? if we want to pray for the boy to get saved we can pray from home too... it is not necessary that if we send sms then only our prayer will reach the boy... I think too much of channels which are aired for 24 hours are real cause of such trouble... At the beginning when there was only DD national channel, daily news use to come only for half an hour.. and coz of limitation of time news shown were quick, presice and accurate.... Dats why i feel that there should not be so much news channels... And ya also coz news channels have ample of time and less numer of news, they keep on strecthing the news and also they show useless stuff and serials too like news channels are meant for entertainment rather then news....
