ABN-AMRO buyout-Harbinger of consolidation

Recently there was a bid by Barclays for acquiring ABN-AMRO Bank for ~$91b.Does it signal the consolidation in the Banking sector in the global arena?

it is aregular phenomena in international business ..this type of big mergers n buyouts keep taking place every year an d it cant b taken as indication of consolidation across banking sector ..even in india their is talk of merger between jjHDFC and HDFC bank...lets see if ti goes through..:tea:
