hello friends,

i need some guidance...

i am pursuing my MBA from pune...
i have graduated in computer engineering and have 15 months of work experience as a software developer...

i have to choose my specialization after 3 months but i am confused regarding that...

my college offers specialization in finance, marketing, human resource, international business and information technology....

obviously my field of interest is information technology, but i'm open for opting any specialization if its advantageous for my career...

so my queries are :-

1> considering my technical background in computers, choosing which specialization will be beneficial for my career?

2> if i opt for information technology, what will be my role in companies and what is the scope as a MBA in IT?

if you feel that you can guide me, kindly spend some time to give a reply...

Its best to specialize in IT.

Your role in companies will differ as per your interest and aptitude. Basic verticals would be working as a ... say umm ..

a.) business consultant,
b.) software project manager
c.) ERP consultant
d.) Beta tester

You could even consider a change within your major. Have a feel of the subjects, ask your senior's to lend they books for couple days check out if there something that interest you more than information technology. Coz you being from IT would have oready learnt 40% of what theyll be teaching, so instead if you like marketing or finance you have a wide option of selecting 1 as that would surely communicate a variety of subjects within your profile.
