MET is an excellent organization..One can easily make out if it will rain or not by just inverting what they predict ;-)

Got this confused with MET - institute . For the benefit of the readers, he's refering to Meteorological Centre of India :)

I thought you talking about MET institute, I was a little hesitant whether the discussion is on the BSchool...good u saved us from creating controversies.
As usual u always unpredictable dude.
And yes the MET had predicted heavy rain lashes this year and a condition severe then 26th July 2005. u rite one has to just invert their predictions.

They remind me of the ancient "doomsday men" - you know, the people who went around in sandwich boards predicting the end of the world.
Before the season started they predicted record rains and heavy flooding. Now I'm told they have certified a drought.
Has anyone ever wondered about their methodology? Based on the evidence it seems they stand around throwing darts at a chart with "Rainy, "Cloudy", "Sunny" and "Cold" written on it.

met. dept was established in1870s and till date India (unlike other countries) lags modern technology and machineries to predict nature's altering game.
