Will India ever be a World power in hockey again?
The hockey world certainly hope so. So much potential. Too much politics that stands in the way of success.

With cricket loving fans in India and it being a religion here, India will never be a world power in hockey....
Even the coach of India once said, that India doesn't have a chance ...

If people start focusing on hockey as cricket even hockey can create attraction. the most important acc. to me is promotion. This can be made out the way "Chak-De" gained attention of the public whose concept was based on women hockey. And many films whose concept was cricket did not make a remarkable notice. hence in order to create an impact AwAkEnInG is important

India has got a lot of potential. and it is a fact that they are the maharajas of the game. India has been winning for many years but due to cricket been worshipped they have not got the desired recognition as they should have. This way they have lost their interest. This was seen when Indian cricket team when they had won the T20 world cup. and similar recognition wasn't given even when they had won the cup.

I guess the ChakDe aura has faded.. this country loves cricket and is the reason for success of IPL, not only in India but across the world. Hockey needs us, it needs the managers, the sponsors to make it level with cricket. Believe me what has happened to cricket after 1983, can happen to hockey in India, we just need the spark to tune it in, so if all the bureaucracy and politics gives way, and India is able to win a major tournament, the day is not far that we will be heading ourselves in Hockey as well!
