Dhruva, is an annual Megafest of International Institute of Information Technology (I2IT) -Pune. This is the managerial, technical and cultural event that takes places at the beginning of the year.
Dhruva-2008 is scheduled on 7th-8th-9th February 2008. This year the students are showing extreme enthusiasm and efforts to make this event a grand celebration in I2IT.
We would like to thank everyone who are directly or indirectly related with this event and are putting immense efforts in making this event a success.
Rock Competition at I2IT, Pune DHRUVA 2008 The Band Warz: The Rock competition
A one of its kind event in the country, this event promises to be the ultimate showdown between the best Rock bands. Cash prize worth Rs 30,000 to the winning team and Rs 20,000 to the runner up. Shocked
Timing: 1800 hrs onwards
Time granted per band: 25mins (playing time) + 5 mins (sound check)
Venue: Open Air Theatre, I2IT – Pune
Date: 8 February 2008
The bands will be judged by ‘Indian Ocean’ – the spectacular Indian Rock Band in front of 5,000 strong audiences. And winners will get a chance to perform for around 20 minutes with Indian Ocean.
The prizes will be decided on the basis of performance, vocal, coordination of the entire team, clarity, energy, over all impact and crowd pulling ability.
Note:
•The registration fee of Rs 1000/- can be made on the day of arrival in the campus.
•Each team must register online by 1 February 2008. Mention all details of all participants in order to make the appropriate arrangements for their stay.
•Drums and keyboard will be provided by us but string arrangements will have to be made by the participants.
•Participants will be provided free accommodation and food facility for the entire 3 days event.
•The playing time might vary according to the amount of participating. The rules can be changed without prior notice.
Choreography Competition at I2IT, Pune DHRUVA 2008 Rhythm: The Choreography Competition
Loose yourself in music. Dance in style. It’s all individuals, in one
group as one soul. Cash prize worth Rs 25,000 to the winning team and Rs
15,000 to the runner up.
Timing: 1800 hrs onwards
Time limit for each performance: 3-7 min.
Venue: Open Air Theatre, I2IT – Pune
Date: 7 February 2008
Rules for Choreography competitions:
1.A team can have 4-10 participants.
2.Points will be deducted for exceeding the time limits.
3.The participants will have to bring their own accessories
(costumes,props, make up kit, etc.)
4.Each team should submit a copy of their CD or cassettes to the Students
Coordinator for Choreography Competition 3hours before the beginning of
the Competition.
