A meeting is an assembling or coming together of two or more persons for the purpose of transacting some business tasks

The matters of business to be discussed at a meeting is called Agenda. Agenda gives an opportunity to the members to come prepared on the subject to the meeting.

Minutes is a brief summary or record of what is said and decided at a formal meeting. It is a record of the proceedings and resolutions passed or decisions taken at a meeting.

AGENDA OF MEETING

Agenda is a written official document of program of business to be transacted at a meeting. It is an official list of things to be done at a particular meeting.

It states the order and nature of business to be transacted at a meeting. It is drafted by the secretary in consultation with the chairperson.

The common practice is ‘confirmation of the minutes of the previous meeting’ as the first item on every agenda.

The last item in the agenda is usually ‘ any other matter with the permission of the chairperson.’

Each item in the Agenda is numbered and it gives the number of meeting also if the meeting is in series.
