Master of Business Administration (Banking Management)
The MBA programme in Banking Management is a two-year, full-time residential programme.
Apart from the basic courses in the functional areas of management, the intensive curriculum, spread over the two years, covers courses specific to Banking and Financial Services Industry such as General Banking Operations, Credit Management, Legal Aspects of Banking, International Banking, Risk Management, Treasury Management to name a few. The emphasis is on blended learning methodology that combines classroom interaction, self study modules enriched by research and experiential learning. This hones skills of creative inquiry, analysis and develops the thirst for continuous learning.
On completion of the first year, an internship of about 8 to 10 weeks duration in an organization forms an integral part of the programme. In addition, one minor project of social relevance and one major specialized project in banking and finance sector are mandatory. This programme has been designed as a contemporary, rigorous and practical source of management education specific to the BFS industry. It would cater to the growing needs of this industry by providing a pool of talented young executives who would be thoroughly trained and ready to shoulder managerial responsibility in the banking and financial sector. SSBM believes that the student experience during the year should be enriching enough to help them bond with the institute for life.
Pattern of the Programme
The programme will follow the semester pattern with two semesters in each year i.e. four semesters in two years.
Medium of Instruction:
The medium of instruction for all the courses (except foreign languages) shall be English.
Methods of Instruction:
Lectures, Industrial visits, Case studies, Project work and field trips wherever necessary.
Duration: Two years, full-time programme.

Reservation of seats
The following are the reservation rules that shall be followed while admitting Indian students:
Scheduled Caste – 15%
Scheduled Tribe – 7.5%
Differently Abled (Persons with Disability) – 3 %
Over & above intake:
Jammu & Kashmiri Migrants: 2 seats
International Students: 15%
Policy of admission against vacant seat under reserved category
In case some seats remain vacant due to the non-availability of suitable candidates in the category of reservations, then information about the number of vacant seats in each category will be reported to the Symbiosis International University. With the permission of the Vice Chancellor, the SC seats will be offered to ST candidates and vice versa and if the vacancy still remains it will be converted to the general category seats. These seats will be offered to shortlisted candidates in order of merit.
