All those who are dreaming to pursue a career in MBA will have to appear in a common entrance test.

The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has announced that the test Common Management Aptitude Test (CMAT) will be taken from 2013.

The decision was taken in the executive council meeting of the AICTE held recently.

The CMAT will be applicable for admission in post-graduate MBA courses and post-graduate diploma in business administration.

Vice-chancellor of the Gujarat Technological University (GTU) A K Aggrawal said that the state too can do away with the Gujarat Common Entrance Test (GCET) following the decision of the AICTE to have CMAT for management colleges all over the country.

Only IIMs and deemed universities have been exempted from this national entrance test for MBA courses.
