Drinking age

Is it just a misconception, or is it true that the drinking age of 21 actually came about because the number of DUIs? In any case, if that is true, wouldn't a more sensible thing be to raise the driving age instead of the drinking age? The U.S. seems to be one of the very few countries having problems with this issue.

Some states are attempting to raise the legal driving age to 17 (some states are pressing for 18) since a disproportionate number of accidents occurs before age 18. The number of accidents drops significantly after age 21. This would indicate, logically, that the additional driving experience has paid off.

The National Minimum Drinking Age Act of 1984 also called the Federal Uniform Drinking Age Act, was passed on July 17, 1984 by the United States Congress as a tool whereby all states would required to legislate and enforce the age of 21 years as a minimum age for purchasing and publicly possessing alcoholic beverages.

There is already a law "No Drink & Drive" which has been implemented in almost all the countries in the world. Some countries implemented in true spirits while in some countries,it not implemented. So,until ppl realise and turn out themselves things cannot be stopped.

But this law is repeatedly violated by today's generation.
A young man was charged with DUI-drugs after he fell asleep and lost control of his pickup at about 7:00 A.M. on I-85 in Coweta County south of Newnan. The trooper originally charged him with driving under the influence of alcohol, but the charge was changed to driving under the influence of drugs after the state crime lab blood test (allegedly) revealed the presence of cocaine and an inactive metabolite of cocaine.
