I totally agree that having work exp. before doing your MBA helps a lot. You are able put the theories in situations you can assume when you were working and that gives a better understanding of the subject. Also you can ask a lot of questions and clear concepts as most of the times you would have gone through a situation that you can relate the teaching to.

Hi friends,

Very well conception of views from all of you. But I feel that doing an MBA as fresher gives you a better lead than having work ex on your account. Being a fresher you are new to eveything wether it is related to principles, practices or activities and projects...in case of work ex your attitude towards studies become someway reluctant as you feel you know the structure of the organization....blah blah everything you know....you have the references...in case you dont get any campus offer. So i do feel doing MBA as fresher is the right way to do it.....

Wat say guyz?????

Work experience plays in crucial role in what you want to study. What will help a fresher decide when it comes to specialisation or electives till the time youve actually worked in that field. If you think Finance is the subject for you as you read finance jobs are well paid, then most of you will be wrong as its not money but your own personal interest that counts in the end and that can be determined only if youve worked in your field of interest and a do an MBA that teaches you with high focus in your area and not any general mba.

well...its better to have atleast 2 yrs of work ex. before pursuing mba...with work ex, a better connection with theories can be felt. more over it would help in building more conceptual clarity.

Dears, I too agree with your views. I had already posted my views. In addition I would say that an experience of 2 Yrs is the gateway to become professional in thinking, attitude, mannerism, work-culture -These all lead an individulal to maturity and firm personality. No deviations in thoughts due to dreamings and no instability. An experienced person knows what he or she is doing and what needs to be done for future.

Best wishes.

I find it quite irresponsible from Universities to allow students with no work experience to MBA courses, which more and more Unis are starting to do. This upsets the whole idea of an MBA and will give them less credibility in the future.

MBA is considered to be one of the professional degree that will give new heights to person who had acquired enough skills. i hope there will have enough oppurtunities in a person's life where he /she will experience and observe as well as inculcate every lessons that was learned.
i believe MBA if it is to be done immediately after the undergraduation, we have to do a part time job in any kind of organisation. if you are coming after some work exposure you may have an edge to understand some of the concepts very easily in your MBA curriculum.
In essence it is the Approach with which you are getting exposed to the managerial concepts that gives the necessary energy, my friend.

Believe me... There is no 100% fresher and 100% experienced person.
the grey area is all about getting accustomed to the situation and preparing yourself...

Hi Pratik I do agree with you but aim of MBA is profit orienteted where one has to compromise ethical values social concern earned during experience where as fresher can be better mould easily to aquire principles of profit oriented management .But stability survival of organisation in long runs always inversely proportional to the instant high profit .
