I would IAS is still worth pursuing. It is still considered to be one of the toughest exams and only nuts can crack it.IAS gives an insight into the administration of a Govt. But in recent times,IAS has lost its shiness mainly due to the stratospherical salaries of MBAs.Moreover the failure rate in IAS was very high. You can pursue MBAs in lot of insti's in the country but nt so the case with IAS.But the benefits and allowances offered to the IAS are more than that offered for MBAs.The funky life-style,fast food culture are luring the youth towards MBA.Even take the case of undergraduation, ppl are still studying B.Sc & B.A (adding with sme specialisation) in this B.E-only tradition.I would conclude IAS is still worth pursuing but ppl are nt dng it
