Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand and Birla Institute of Management Technology (BIMTECH), NCR have signed Memorandum of Understanding to elaborate the partnership for student exchange, joint faculty activities and joint training to industry. The heads of the institutions have announced that AIT and BIMTECH will work together for collaborative research in the areas of sustainable development, natural resource management, social business, and emerging market.
Signing the MoU, Prof. Irandoust said, ‘Our partnership will help in harnessing and contributing towards knowledge development in this part of Asia’. BIMTECH Director Dr. Chaturvedi underlined the ‘strategic strengths’ of both institutes, stating that the ‘two institutions will jointly organize executive programs for middle and higher level management for both the private and the public sector’. 
Chairman of the AIT Board of Trustees H.E. Dr. Tej Bunnag former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Thailand and Assistant Secretary General for Administration, the Thai Red Cross Society and HE Ambassador of Royal Thai Embassy to India Ambassador Mr. Psian Manawapat were also present on the occasion and appreciated the efforts by both the schools. H.E. Dr. Tej Bunnag appreciated the efforts “to expand the knowledge base in the South Asian region in the fields of management and sustainable development areas, through research, collaborative programs and capacity building.” H.E. Mr. Pisan Manawapat congratulated both partners and offered all the support from the embassy in developing joint activities.

AIT and BIMTECH have also announced that the two institutes will work together for collaborative research in the areas of sustainable development, natural resource management, social business, and emerging markets. The two institutes will capitalize on their inherent strengths in environment and social development to develop case studies; engage in organizing conferences and seminars; apart from other academic outputs. This will help engage students and faculty of both institutes in producing practice based knowledge.
