 Interview of  Tushar Rathi

1.         Tell us something about yourself?

I am Tushar, pursuing BMS (last year) from Lucknow University. My hobbies are trading; earn money, watching movies, computer games etc. According to my opinion-“Money is not everything…. but without money there is nothing. “So I can do anything for money. I like the open minded peoples i.e. frank in nature and my ideal person is Mr. Dhirubhai Ambani.

2.         What is management according to you?

As the name suggested management is managing men (manage by men) and…. Manage things is also my hobby management is a process of planning, organizing, directing, controlling and co-ordination.”Management is something so simple and difficult that I can never put it in simple words.”

3.         What is your philosophy towards work?

My philosophy about work is that the situation be fair for both the employer and employee. I believe a very fair wage is needed for the employee so they are productive. If one is underpaid then they will, in turn, do as little as they can for the employer and both loose.

4.         Describe the change in the management situation you have experienced till date?

There is a lot of change in management. The role of manager is increasing day by day. Management is process of achieving organizational goal with the help of given limited resources. Without management there is nothing in the corporate world. The best example of management is housewife. Manage things is a big art.

See this:- this is the change in position of management in the market.

(Earlier this was the position of market)

(Now it is reversed everything is customer)

But still value of management is increasing day by day

5.         What motivates you to do your best on the job?

Money and respect

6.         Tell me about the most fun you have had on the job?

Once I was going to ganj where I meet a person. He was behaving like a gay, he offered me 18000/- for making adult movie. I mentioned above that I can do anything for money…..but at that time…..guess????

I reject that 18000/-

So I can do anything for money but….sometime….you know what….

7.         “Earning in 6 digits” is the motive behind doing MBA? Is it justifiable?

Yes, as I say that “Money is not everything…. but without money there is nothing.” A person can do anything for money. Money is best thing which motives us. So I agree that Earning in 6 digits” is the motive behind doing MBA.

8.         Do you think the MBA course curriculum is at par with industry expectations?

Yes, I think so…….

9.         What suggestions would you like to give to enhance MBA today?

As we know that the India's education system is very poor and very costly also. Now days, education is not education it is like a business, everywhere there are lot of management colleges. Son its government duty to prevent opening of colleges. We must have to change our education system. MBA education should be practically there is no need of theory. CAT gave a new look to MBA. now a day's every third student want to do MBA. Therefore, in order to make india incredible it is very important point for all student who want to make their career in management line or any other line.

10.       Is the Name of the Institute from where a student does his/her MBA important while entering into corporate world?

Yes, it is very important to select right MBA College. While choosing a college you must see the faculty, placement records etc because you are investing your money on your career. Your one decision can change your life.

11.       What message would you like to give to the students aspiring to work at management level?

Remember these three points;-

o          The conventional definition of management is getting work done through people, but real management is developing people through work.

o          Make your top managers rich and they will make you rich.

o          A good manager is a man who isn't worried about his own career but rather the careers of those who work for him.

"If you pick the right people and give them the opportunity to spread their wings—and put compensation as a carrier behind it—you almost don't have to manage them."

"Never try to teach a pig to sing; it wastes your time and it annoys the pig."

12.       What are your views on the Entrance Exams for Professionals courses?

I agree with this point. With the help of entrance exam we can identify the managerial skills of a person and decide his level. GD and PI also have equal importance.

13.       What do Corporate expect from MBA professionals?

"ATTITUDE” towards working. Today generation is more concerned about money than exposure. For example if you ask MBA student to work in a company for 8k, most of them will hesitate. They all wanted to start their career with 30k+. Companies are ready to pay but they want performers, so the candidate should accept the offer and should show his talent. But most of us don't. We sit and dream to reach the sky.... which is not possible. So have the right attitude and be successful in your career.....

14.       What piece of advice would you give to a student aspiring for an MBA?

Now a day's every person want to do MBA. I suggest to a student aspiring for an MBA according to my opinion it is the best line. And IIMs are the best B-schools in India.

15.       "Managementparadise.com has been helping management students from the past 6 years. So according to you, how is MP and what you like in MP? Any suggestions for us?

It is good but working slowly. It should be like Facebook and chat option should also give here in order to easy and fast discussion. It is loaded site.

Thank you so much for giving us your valuable time.
