Guidelines for preparation of the project report

GUIDELINES FOR PREPARATION OF THE PROJECT REPORT

Project report SIZE

The project report should, at the max, be 60 pages long, taking into consideration the first page of Chapter 1 and the last page of typed material, as the limits.

project report layout and COMPOSITION

The project report matter should be arranged in the following sequence:

  1. Title page / Cover page
  2. Training Certificate issued by organization
  3. Abstract
    Around 500-600 words long narration highlighting the project /research methodology and providing insight into various components that build it up
  4. Acknowledgement
    At the max, 1 page long ; it is a note of thanks in recognition of the inputs, guidance or any other support extended by Organizational key people, guides or any other individual, who contributed towards the successful completion of project work by the trainee
  5. Table of Contents
  6. List of Tables
  7. List of Figures/ Flow-charts
  8. Chapters
    The titles suggested here for “Chapters” and their sub-divisions are optional and may be adapted to meet the specifications of the project under-taken.

      • Vision & Mission
      • Structure
      • Leadership
      • Constituent Units/ Departments
    2. About the Project
      • Introduction
      • Rationale behind choosing the project

Chapter 2 : Research Layout & Design

    1. Research Process
      • Research Objectives
      • Project Layout
      • Step-wise procedure followed
    2. Topic “XYZ”
      • What is “XYZ”?
      • Why is “XYZ” important?
      • Highlights of “XYZ”
      • Graphical representation/ Flow-chart of complete “XYZ” process
      • What are the different components of “XYZ”? (Explanation of management terms, methods, processes involved)
      • Effect of/ Relationship of “XYZ” with other elements of “your specialization”. For ex., if your project topic is “Brand Management”, you can demonstrate its impact on other functions of Marketing i.e. “Market Segmentation”, “Positioning”, “Customer Satisfaction” etc. Similarly , HR trainees can bring to light the impact of “Training & Development” on “Employee Satisfaction”, “Career Planning” etc

      • Why is “XYZ” difficult?
    3. Recent Trends
      • Modern Trends in India/ Overseas in relation to “XYZ”
    4. Impact of related factors
      • Implications of factors internal to the organization on “XYZ”

      • Time & Cost constraints in relation to “XYZ” System/ Process
